White-Top Aster may also known as High-Bush Aster.

Plant is an upright, hairy perennial with a rhizome. from which new growth emerges. Preferred habitat is wooded lands, fields, roadsides and along marshy stream banks. Distribution is throughout the Escambia region.

Leaves are alternate on the stem; consisting of one part; no leaf stalk; oblong to lance-like; no teeth and no lobes; tapers to the tip with sides less than equal. Leaf base graduates to a narrow point.

Flowers are in a panicle; symmetrical in shape. Disc flowers are bisexual and white. Ray flowers are female and also white. Flowers occur in late spring and early summer.


Fruit is a seed which outer layer is fused to it (achene).
