White Featherling is also known as False Asphodel.

Plant is an upright, slightly hairy perennial from a rhizome. Preferred habitat is savannas, pine woods and bogs. Distribution is coastal in the Escambia region.

Leaves are mostly basal; overlapping; becoming reduced upward; linear,;no teeth and no lobes.

Flowers are in a raceme; white to greenish-white. Anthers are red or black and conspicuous. Flowers occur in the summer.

Fruit is a capsule.
