Hyla squirella Hyla (Treefrogs) Family Grows to about 1-1/2 inch long. The tiny creature is able to change color from green to brown, with or without spots. A southeastern coastal plain species found from Virginia to Texas. Sometimes an arboreal feeder, but often found on the ground near decaying stumps or logs. Note the very poorly defined light stripe on the side of its body that begins at the upper lip and extends down the rib cage. Copyright material |
