| To identify the Silky Mushroom, look for a large cap with upturned margins. The appearance of water drops often appear on the gills. The plant has a radish-like odor. The color is creamy over the incurved margins to brown or red-brown at the center. Gills may be notched, crowded and narrow; white to gray in color. Its preferred habitat is open areas under pines and oak. |
