| Shield Lichen is identified by its flat leaf-like nature with a network of cracks and ridges. The color ranges from gray to green to orange or sulphur above, black below with many short root-like attachments. Its preferred habitat is on tree trunks, fallen logs and dense humus piles. The plant is extremely drought resistant and thrives best under stressful conditions. |
