Identification by Bob Patterson, Moth Photographers Group. Covell, Moths of Eastern North America, Page 423. The forewing is gray and white with tiny black vertical dashes. There will be an elliptical brown terminal patch set off by a dark brown sub-terminal line. The hindwing is dark grayish brown. Caterpillar host plants are hickory, pecan, oak, and persimmon.
