Many-colored Polypore
Coriolus versicolor
Pore Fungi Family (Polyporaceae & Ganodermataceae)

Many-colored Polypore is made up of single caps (may be clustered but not attached to the other), each cap is 1-3 inches broad, or a single cap may reach 10 inches or more as in the second image below. Clusters are thin and overlapping caps with multi-colored bands of white, brown and yellow or gray, often blue and black -- the bands are called zones and may have hairy bands between the zones. Habitat is on dead wood or in wounds on broad-leaved trees.
