| The egg-shaped cap is 1-3 inches broad, dry, unpolished, white to dull white but sometimes with minute, flattened, gray scales. The stalk is nearly equal to the cap with an enlarged base. Stalk is silky below the ring. The veil is membranous, cottony and white. The collar-like ring often has a couble-fringed edge. Its preferred habitat grassy meadows, lawns and under broad leaf trees. |
