Amanita citrina Amanitaceae (Amanita) Mushroom Family |
| Lemon Scented mushroom is convex with a broad knob, viscid, greenish yellow to light green with white margins. The gills are free, white, wide spaced, and with slightly hairy edges. The stalk enlarges downward with a nearly rounded bulb and a noticeable white collar on the lower half of the stem. The stem is yellow above the collar, and occasionally will show a tinge of yellow below. Spores occur from spring through autumn. Its preferred habitat is in hardwood forests; usually in samll clusters. |
