| Most katydids reach an overall body length of about 3 inches. The body is large, usually green or pale brown. Its hind legs are long; antennae is long, and the wings are broad. At the rest the katydid holds its wings like a tent over the body. Its preferred habitat is woods, fields, brushy areas and lawns. |
