| Glistening Inky Cap is tall, spindly, and slimy with a cap of no more than 3 inches wide. The cap is conical to bell-shaped, grayish brown or tan with shiny grains when young. The skin is smooth and turns inky with age. The gills and stem are brown or tan. Spores are black. Its preferred habitat is rotting logs, buried wood and debris. Plants are usually seen in clusters. |
