Identification: Covell, Moths of Eastern North America, Page 354. The moth has gray wings (female sometimes has a greenish tint), light mottling, with darker gray, but no black or brown. The ante-median line is double, wide, discal spots are hollow. Caterpillar host plants are sweetfern, ash, clover. elm, pear, poplar and willow.
