Identification: Covell, Moths of Eastern North America, Page 362. The wings are straw to orangish yellow with a reddish-brown or blackish sub-terminal band. The area beyond the post-median line is grayish-brown (spring brood) to rusty brown (summer brood). Note the pale yellow apical patch. Caterpillar food stuff is recorded.
