Plant is an upright perennial. Preferred habitat is roadsides, fields and thin woods. Distribution is throughout the Escambia region. leaves are alternate on the tem; trifoliate (in sets of three), with leaflets being oblong to widest in the middle; silver in color; no teeth and no lobes. Flowers are in a compact raceme at the end of the stem. The calyx is five-lobed; five petals and colored red to purple. Flowers occur in the summer Fruit is a legume. |
