Metarranthis angularia (B & McD) Geometridae Identification: Corvell, Moths of Eastern North America, Page 366 -- Similar to Ruddy Metarranthis but the post-median line is more angled. The wings have coarse blackish dusting over solid reddish-purple shading in all but the median area and the apex of the forewing (especially in female). The caterpillar host plants are choke cherry and wild cherry. |
